learning and shiurim
Continuing Jewish Development is a key component of the Brondesbury Park philosophy. The Shabbat morning Synagogue experience is complimented by the following two weekly classes
A Talmud class on Monday evenings, for men. This session aims to navigate particular tractates of the Talmud (the main body of Jewish law and ethics) in a user friendly fashion whilst not shying away from engaging in complex areas of Jewish law. The highly interactive class is led by communal member Yossi Unterman. Previous knowledge of Talmud is an advantage but not required.
A class exploring the relevant weekly Torah portion. The session opens with a review of the portion before engaging in an in depth exploration of a particular theme or subject arising from the portion with a message which is both inspiring and relevant to the participants. The session is interactive with no previous knowledge of the Torah portions required and is led by Rabbi Baruch. Open to both men and women.
Several other learning opportunities are held periodically, including a crash course in Judaism, a Jewish philosophy series and a series on navigating the Synagogue service.
